My blogging journey so far and a little Sunday chat!!

Image
Let's start with a huge THANK YOU to my readers,  THANK YOU for reading what I have to say. It has not even been a year and I have received so many emails , comments and views from you guys <3  From one blog to another to a website FINALLY.  Aaj kal stress levels are clearly greater than inspiration levels and I did not post on this blog for a while so here I am. To all the social media friendly people out there, WHO IS BINOD?! I opened my Instagram today and all I see is BINOD. A few people asked me about my blogging journey this week and why I blog in the world of the 'gram so just thought of sharing some bits of my journey. Firstly, I never EVER thought that people would read what I have to say, so I started using Blogger in JULY 2019 and I wrote a couple of poems on it and never shared it , blogger was literally my digital diary and I randomly used it for writing poetry. Previously, I was using wattpad to write poetry and it felt great,  wattpad has a good am

Quarantine diaries

As days pass by it gets frustrating , the daily news seems almost unbearable , often I lack inspiration to write and my emotions rarely find words now a days ; 3-4 days to write one piece is the new normal and I barely feel like drawing. Sleeping and missing my college life are the only things I manage to do and suddenly it's 3 PM , I haven't done a thing haven't eaten anything , it's all so weird , I wonder what happiness is , I try finding it around and then I try harder not realising that I need to create it , HERE at this moment , a beautiful moment that wouldn't come again. Amidst this lockdown , few beautiful things happened that I am grateful for - the people close to me are free from the virus that has been ruining lives. Apart from that I had the opportunity to start my own website www.delightedhumans.com which has always been a dream - my own wholesome website about lifestyle , travel , photography , business stories basically anything and everything ,

Why do we need to see someone's death in order to value life? RIP Sushant Singh Rajput

Image
" Don't run behind views and followers." - my dad told told me this morning. Sushant Singh Rajput , an outsider in the industry with a HUGE fan following , a gem and an impeccable actor stole my heart when I watched 'Kai po Che' the first time. The lively "Ish" , a true friend and a man who valued relationships more than he valued money. Whenever I rewatch the movie the love for his character rekindles. Would it be the same had someone else played that role? Sarfaraz in "PK" , he stole the show with just "char kadam" short role in the movie. Then came "Kedarnath" ; I remember my board exams were a month away still I couldn't resist watching the movie when it got digitally released and yes, the ending broke my heart a little. And how can I forget , Shudh desi romance where he played a confused yet charming boy living in the beautiful city of Jaipur.  Every character he played made an impact and in

7 years of YJHD

Yeh Jawani hai deewani or YJHD is the "dil chahta hai " for 2000s kids.  Jaise kabhi Goa ka plan successful nhi hua , waise hi Manali ka bhi nhi hoega. Plus , yeh coronaaaaa. When Bunny said ,  "Mai udna chahta hu , daudna chahta hu , girna bhi chahta hun bas rukna nhi chahta." Accept it or not we all felt that. We have all had that crazy gang - the nerd, the vagabond , the guy who is ALWAYS up for fun and the crazy tomboyish sii ladki and at the end of the day that's all we got. That's all we will take away with us - MEMORIES. And when Naina said - " Yadein mithai ki dabbe ki tarah hoti hai , ek baar khula toh sirf ek tukda nhi kha paoge."  She is right.  Memories hi toh hoti hai that keep us going. The happiness we get after opening an old album , going through those moments again is amazing. Plus , kahin pahuchne ke liye kahi se nikalna toh padhega. One fine ( or maybe not so fine day) we will leave our school friends be

What are the odds?

Wanted to start this on a happy note : I TOUCHED 4K views. Thank you everyone. It's 2 AM right now and I feel "slightly" vulnerable, I am not sure why. An hour back , I completed a "surprise" project which is to be submitted within 24 hours or be ready to sacrifice 10% of your total score. And yes , I know I have been posting a lot these days and OBVIOUSLY everything in my life has a story , let's leave that for another day. It's been a couple of weeks since I logged into Netflix and as soon as I completed my project I wanted to treat myself with the new Netflix original "What are the odds?" I was eagerly waiting for it. Also , the movie stars Abhay Deol , who I think is one of the MOST UNDERRATED actors. If you disagree , watch DEV D. So , I started watching the movie and an incident in the movie disturbed me. What are the odds of a comedy movie disturbing a person. The stark similarities of the incident to my personal life was the reason why

MAHABHARAT - a result of impulsive actions of the female characters

Image
Mahabharata has seen ferocious female characters right from Ganga to Gandhari ; Hidimba to Ahilawati ; Kunti to Draupadi. The characters knew how to make their voice count , had numerous vardaans and some were just mystical beings. However, the Mahabharata war ( originally known as the Jaya war ) can be loosely considered a consequence of the impulsiveness of these female characters. Starting from Satyavati , the second wife of Shantanu ( the father of Bhishma Pitamah) - Satyavati was a daughter of a fishermen. Although , she loved Shantanu she was insecure about the future of her children ( who hadn't taken birth till now). She wanted her sons to sit on the throne but this desire of hers was threatened by Bhishma or Devratt , as he was known in his earlier days. To save his father's love and to make her step mother feel secure , Devratt vowed to stay a slave to the throne of Hastinapur , never become the king and observe celibacy. Though, Satyavati was sat
